Panaji, Nov 20 (IBNS) Assamese film Baandhon will open the Indian panorama section at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2012 in Goa on Wednesday.
Directed by veteran filmmaker Jahnu Barua, Baandhon is a human statement against terror on behalf of the common men of the entire world.
Jatin Bora, Bishnu Kharghoria, Zerifa Wahid and Bina Potongia starrer film narrates the story of Dandeswar and Hkawni, both seventy-three years old, arrive in Mumbai to look for their beloved grandson-the only other living member of the family who has been missing since the 26/11 2008 terror attack.
The film was produced by Assam State Film (Finance and Development) Corporation Limited and it was selected by the IFFI jury from a list of 300 odd entries.
The jury has chosen "Celluloid Man" (Hindi, English, Bengali and Kannada), directed by Shivendra Singh Dungarpur, to open the non-feature film category of the Indian Panorama section.
