Bail plea for former minister dismissed

Erode: A local court today dismissed the bail plea of former DMK minister M P Swaminathan who was arrested in connection with a land grabbing case.

The former highways minister and a party functionary Kanagaraj were arrested in Tirupur district last month in connection with the case.

Principal district court judge of Erode K Jayasankaran dismissed the bail plea of Swaminathan and Kanagaraj after arguments.

Counsel for Swaminathan said they would move the bail plea in the Madras High Court within a day or two.
