Future Group retail chain Big Baazar on Friday launched the hunt for 'Banglar Sera Jamai', marking the traditional Bengali festival, 'Jamai Sasthi' here at the Nagarbazar store.
Tollywood actor and comedian Mir was present at the event as the ambassador of the campaign.
On this occasion he arrived dressed like a quintessential Bengali ´Jamai-Babu´ with a giant carp on one hand and a potter´s pot of sweets on the other.
"We have always connected with the mainstream of Bengal and saluting ´Jamai Sasthi´ is our humble way of saying we are an extension of each and every Bengali family in Bengal," said Raj Banerjee, Business Development Head (East), Big Bazaar.
Banerjee noted that the contest would take place in 10 Big Bazaar stores across Bengal from Jun 1 to 16 and 21 contestants would be selected and they will participate in the final of this contest.
"It feels special to be a part of this festival. I can feel the excitement in my veins and know this game will establish an immediate connect with the people," said Mir.
