Big opportunity in global crisis: ASSOCHAM

New Delhi, Dec 26 (IBNS) Industry body ASSOCHAM said on Monday it sees a big opportunity in the global economic crisis and fully subscribes to the statement of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

The United States, the European Union and some of the best performing economies are registering zero or dismal growth as against over 7 per cent GDP growth in India, which is no small achievement, said ASSOCHAM.

ASSOCHAM secretary general D.S. Rawat said present political compulsions are greatly appreciated but the government will still have to build consensus to bring reforms.

"The nation will continue to march ahead with great confidence and attain around 8 per cent growth," he said.
