Gaya: A Dalit woman was burnt to death by upper caste landowners in Bihar's Gaya district, police said on Tuesday.
The victim's family alleged that the accused Subedar Yadav and his two nephews had promised to give them a house under the Indira Awas Yojana.
The two nephews were identified as Yogesh and Mukesh.
Yadav, who was an ex-block pramukh, used to often take the money from the woman.
However, the victim reportedly refused to give money to the accused recently and they set her on fire, reports said.
She was taken to the Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College and Hospital in Gaya where she died on Sunday, the police said.
The police said a First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged.
One person has been arrested while two others are still absconding, the police said.
