The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday accused the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre of shielding militants.
BJP spokesperson Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said 'Congress Party, Home Minister and the Central Government happen to be terrorist friendly as evident from giving clean chit to militants'.
"We had earlier asked the Home Minister to apologise to the country for this political conspiracy. This is not just a political scheming but national crime that they are trying to shield militants and trying to prove the country pro-militancy," he added.
Naqvi's remark came in the wake of the comments made by Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde at the Congress Chintan Shivir in Jaipur earlier this month that BJP and RSS were involved in training their cadre in terror activities and those allegedly involved in Hindu terror acts were affiliated to them.
Naqvi further hit out at Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh for the country's poor economic health.
"The legacy our economist Prime Minister being left behind is that of a country with unstable economy and corrupt political system. They kept talking of 10 percent growth, while the country's economy is currently stuck at five percent only," said Naqvi.
"They made promises of providing employment and unemployment rose. They said that high inflation will decrease whereas inflationary prices have risen with each day, and the economist prime minister led federal government has broken all records of inflation in the country," he added.
India's slowest growth in a decade could be worse than anticipated, as preliminary data released on Thursday showed the economy set to have grown five percent in fiscal year ending next month, underscoring the urgent need for reforms to boost growth. (ANI)
