New Delhi: BJP national general secretary Vani Tripathi was allegedly attacked by five men while driving home in a busy part of South Delhi on Thursday night.
She said she was on her way home last night after visiting a friend when her car got into an accident. She said she was the immediately assaulted by five drunk men, who tried to pull her driver out and get into the car.
However, she immediately locked herself inside the car and called the police. By the time the cops arrived, the men had escaped.
She later tweeted about her horrific incident.
"Horrifying accident just got saved car smashed and on top of it five men tried to get inside my car all drunk am I alive?#shamedelhi," read one of the tweets.
In her next tweet she said, "Called 100 police did arrive but by the time they did if I had not locked myself in the car could've been dead, raped anything was possible!"
She said that though there were plenty of cars on the road, nobody stopped to help her.
Tripathi said, "Can you imagine this was almost one kilometer away from the very spot delhi brave heart lost her life! What are we talking about?safety???"
She added, "Ugly part is as I locked myself in my car these hounds just rallied around my car as if I've done something wrong I'm amazed at the audacity."
She said she called the emergency number and the PCR van came for rescue after a while though it could be because of the traffic.
