New Delhi: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L.K.Advani on Sunday said his party plans to uproot the corrupt UPA Government in the 2014 general elections.
"The country should get freedom from this corrupt government and in order to achieve this target we have made a strategy in this year's national executive meet. If we disperse from here by understanding and implementing the decisions taken during this meet then I feel we will be able to serve the nation better," said Advani.
The motive of the BJP meet was to analyze the economic condition of the country and also discuss a strategy to counter the anti-people policies of the ruling Congress Party.
Advani also said: "Our goal should be to form a NDA (National Democratic Alliance) plus government at the centre. The NDA has shrunken and needs to revive by an NDA plus government which is led by the BJP. And this is not very difficult to achieve as the Congress party has done our homework and we should make complete use of it."
Over the past couple of years, the Congress has come under intense scrutiny for its perceived inaction in a spate of controversial scams, in which many of the party's own leaders and allies have been named or indirectly linked.
The central government has been under the scanner for rampant scams beginning from the Commonwealth Games, telecom scam to the recent multi-billion coal scam.
The latest controversy that has maligned the image of the Congress party is the multi-million rupee Italian helicopter scam involving scores of senior politicians, bureaucrats and their relations.
