New Delhi: BJP President Nitin Gadkari on Sunday described as "right" the party's decision to form government in Jharkhand along with JMM and AJSU under the leadership of Chief Minister Arjun Munda, that saw an end to the president's rule in the state.
"It was a right decision and Arjun Munda's performance is appreciable. He is working for the development of Jharkhand," Gadkari said in a press conference here.
"Unlike Commonwealth Games scam in New Delhi, there are no irregularities in conducting of the recent National Games in Jharkhand," he said.
When reminded about the state vigilance bureau's investigations into alleged financial irregularities in the purchase of sporting equipment for National Games, he said those things did not happen during this regime.
On his meeting with JMM President Shibu Soren at the latter's residence last night, Gadkari said he visited his place as Soren had called on him twice earlier in New Delhi.
BJP and JMM had been at loggerheads for a month in March/April last year before the saffron party pulled out from the Shibu Soren-led government that led to the imposition of president's rule.
The deadlock broke in September with JMM agreeing to form government under Munda's leadership and the BJP-JMM-AJSU coalition took oath on September 11 last year.
