Kolkata, Jan 30 (IBNS) In a bizzare move, the Kolkata Book Fair authorities said they switched off power during an interaction of Pakistan cricket and politician Imran Khan with media on Monday because the press meet that was to end in five minutes had stretched nearly 45 minutes.
"We did switch off power because the next programme could not be started. So we were forced to do so," Kolkata Book Fair organizer´s top official Tridib Chatterjee told a news channel.
Imran was addressing media after a literary interaction at the book fair.
"We were forced to do so," the Publishers and Book Sellers Guild top man argued even as media lambasted Chatterjee for the action.
Chatterjee said Imran Khan perhaps was relieved perhaps since he was hounded by the media.
According to TV footage, the address of Imran to media came to an end abruptly as the power was switched off.
There could have been utter chaos or security problem owing to the action of the Book fair authorities.
