Board Results 2015 Special: An inspiration called Sarvesh Verma

The time of the year has come when young students become an inspiration for many. 

The 10th and 12th results are out and so as the toppers list. 

Each topper has his own story to tell. But, for fifteen year old Sarvesh Kumar who topped the Secondary School Exam in the northern state of UP, life hasn't been an easy ride. 

As reported by the BBC, Sarvesh has beaten 3.5 million students across the state to get to the top. 

The village where Sarvesh resides, is one of those numerous villages where supply of electricity is irregular. Solar lantern was Sarvesh's only hope while studying. 

Sarvesh, had to cycle 10 kms from his village Sahsaraav to reach his school which was located in Haraiyya town. 


Sarvesh's hard work to do well in UP Secondary School Examination (10th Boards) has been widely appreciated despite the fact that 10th Board Examination is optional and do not carry much weightage on it's own. These exams help students prepare for the most crucial examination, which is the 12th Board.
