Providence: According to the website Boston.com, police in Providence recovered a body from the Providence river on Tuesday, which they believe is that of the missing student – Sunil Tripathi.
Lieutenant Joseph Donnelly, in a statement, stated that it was "very, very possible" that the body was Sunil Tripathi.
But confirmation of this claim will only come on Wednesday after the body is examined medically. The family of Tripathi has not been informed - presumably awaiting an official confirmation.
The body was discovered floating in the river by the coach of the rowing team of Brown University - where Tripathi used to study.
Tripathi was last seen in his apartment in Providence around 11 a.m. on March 16. Tripathi shot to global prominence after users on the online website Reddit accused him to being the Boston bomber. These accusations were later proved to be false.
