Boy killed in suspected human sacrifice case in AP

Hyderabad: In a suspected case of human sacrifice, a 14-year-old boy was kidnapped and killed in Andhra Pradesh's Adilabad district, police said on Thursday.

The victim P Ganesh's father Narasaiah had registered a complaint stating that his son, a class ninth student, had been missing since the past two days, they said.

"We found out that the one Rathod Raju, a hotel worker who is close to the family, took the teenager along with him two days ago to an unknown place. The boy was missing since then and after investigation we found his body at Nirmal town in Adilabad today," an officer said.

Raju has been arrested and search is on for two others involved in the case, the officer said.

He said that police are investigating the human sacrifice angle as turmeric powder, vermilion and other puja related objects were found on the victim's body.

The boy's body has been sent for autopsy, they said, adding that further investigation is on.
