The BSE Sensex fell 0.32 percent on Friday on increasing worries of retracting foreign fund inflows.
The 30-share benchmark index ended 59.47 points lower at 18,450.23 with 24 of its components closing in the red.
The broader 50-share National Stock Exchange (NSE) Nifty index ended 0.39 percent or 14 points lower at 5,553.25 on Friday.
Software services exporters once again led the losses on weak U.S. jobs data while bank shares also traded low.
Meanwhile in the bullion market, gold recovered by Rs 60 to Rs 29,560 per 10 grams while silver shed Rs 150 to Rs 51,600 per kg.
