The BSE Sensex fell 0.10 percent on Friday, tracking Asian peers that tumbled on receding global risk appetite and mounting risk factors.
The 30-share benchmark index ended 17.55 points lower at 17,521.12 with 18 of its components closing in the red.
The broader 50-share National Stock Exchange (NSE) Nifty index ended 0.19 percent or 10.35 points lower at 5,316.95 on Friday.
Interest rate cuts in China and the euro zone spooked investors about global economic growth compounding worries about pending U.S. jobs data, that hit IT services firms Infosys and Tata Consulting Services ahead of reporting earnings next week.
