BSF seizes gold biscuits from Indo-Bangladesh border

The Border Security Force (BSF) deployed at the South Bengal frontier near the Indo-Bangladesh border seized three gold biscuits weighting around 350 gms worth around Rs 90 lakh during the operations last month.

The gold biscuits were seized while they were being carried from Bangladesh, the BSF said in a statement.

Besides gold, the BSF also seized 22,916 bottles of Phensedyl in the border area under police station Bongaon, Bashirhat, Swaroopnagar, Gaighata in 24 Parganas (North) district and Hanskhali, Tehatta, Chhapra, Krishnaganj in Nadia district.

The BSF seized 541 bottles of liquor in border area under police station Jalangi, Raninagar, Nadia and Bhagwangola in Murshidabad district and Kaliachak, Raghunathganj, Baishnavnagar and Shamsherganj in Malda district as well as Bongaon, Bashirhat, Swaroopnagar , Gaighata in 24 Parganas (North) district, the statement said.

The Force also seized 30.250 kgs of marijuana in border area.
