New Delhi, Feb 15 (IANS) The 2013 Budweiser Cup, a six-a-side football tournament, will be held in London May 9-12.
The 2013 final will be held at Vale Farm, home of Wembley FC, in London.
This year, teams from eight countries -- Argentina, Chile, India, Malaysia, Ukraine, UK, the US and Vietnam -- will meet in London to compete for the title of Budweiser Cup Champions 2013.
India last participated in the Budweiser Cup in 2009, when 224 teams from across the country competed for the chance to represent the country against 14 other countries at the finals held at Old Trafford.
"We are proud to bring back the Budweiser Cup, and continue to provide our fans with the opportunity to win a once in a lifetime experience - living their dream of representing their country at an international tournament. The response to the Budweiser 6v6 Cup 2009 was overwhelming. The immense desire among fans in India to represent their country on the world famous Old Trafford pitch was tremendous," said Gokul Luwang, Budweiser's Brand Manager.
The Budweiser Cup India 2013 will be held across 3 regions (South, West and North India) in the cities of New Delhi (March 9-10), Mumbai (March 17, 23 and 24) and Bangalore (March 17, 24).
Winners and runners-up from each city will participate in the national finals to be held here to determine the Budweiser 6v6 Cup 2013 champions. The champion team will represent India in the Budweiser 6v6 Cup London 2013.
