Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways C P Joshi Friday expressed his deep condolences over the passing away of former Prime Minister Inder Kumar Gujral.
India´s 12th Prime Minister Inder Kumar Gujral, whose policy of pacifism with neighbours continues to influence the Asian giant´s foreign policy architecture, passed away after a multi-organ failure at Medanta Medicity hospital in Gurgaon on Friday. He was 93.
Gujral, who was admitted to the hospital on Nov 19 with a lung infection, died at around 3:30 pm.
He was unwell for quite some time and was on ventilator support.
In his condolence message, Joshi said that in the death of I K Gujral, India has lost a determined champion of peace full of warmth and compassion.
"Gujral will also be missed on world canvas for his contribution in promoting friendship and cooperation among nations both as diplomat and as a world leader," the Minister added.
"May God bless the departed soul and the bereaved family to bear the loss," Joshi said.
