New Delhi: A car blast near Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's residence on Monday created a flutter among security agencies including elite SPG guarding the VVIP.
Three persons received injuries in the incident at 2 PM at a petrol station located 200 metres from the 7-Race Course Road, the official residence of the Prime Minister.
One of the injured was an Israeli diplomat.
The car was identified as belonging to the Israeli embassy in Delhi.
It was not immediately clear as to whether it was a blast or whether the CNG cylinder in it exploded.
A terrorist attack has not been ruled out at this point.
A high alert was immediately sounded and police rushed to spot to ascertain the nature of the blast.
Meanwhile, Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor said that he would not discuss the person nor the extent of the injuries because it was a security matter.
"We are looking into the incident and cooperation with local security forces is excellent," Palmor said, from Israel.
Television footage showed a charred minivan with blue diplomatic plates, its rear door apparently blown out.
