A case of assault has been registered against Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan after he and his aides broke the nose of a man in a scuffle inside the Taj Hotel here.
Khan was reportedly accompanied by girlfriend and actress Kareena Kapoor at the time of the incident.
Mumbai Assistant Commissioner of Police Iqbal Sheikh confirming the incident, said that a case has been registered against the actor on Tuesday under Section 325, read with 34 of the Indian Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt.
Sheikh said that an arrest of the actor could only be considered after he was interrogated and found to be the guilty party. He said that the arrest order would the last recourse of the police.
The complaint was filed by a person named Sharma.
Sheikh said that Khan, Kapoor and 10 other friends were having dinner at the Wasabi Restaurant at the Taj Hotel, when Juhu resident Iqbal Sharma complained about them making too much noise.
This led to a heated argument and a scuffle. Khan allegedly told Iqbal Sharma to go to a library if he wanted peace and quiet.
Police said that at the moment Saif Ali Khan is untraceable and added that once he is traced they will bring the actor to the Colaba Police station. (ANI)
