New Delhi: Candidates appearing for theCommon Admission Test (CAT) for entrance to IIMs and otherprestigious business schools on November 16 and 22 will get 30minutes more as number of questions will be more this time.
"Earlier, candidates appearing for CAT were getting140 minutes to solve the paper, but now time has beenincreased to 170 minutes," a spokesperson of the IndianInstitute of Management (IIM) Indore, which is conducting theonline CAT 2014, told PTI today.
"Henceforth, in sections of Quantitative Ability andData Interpretation, and Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning,the candidates will have to answer 50 questions each insteadof earlier 30," the spokesperson said.
As per the new feature, the candidates can allot timeaccordingly to solve either of sections of their choicedepending on their ability and convenience. "Students can alsoswitch over and come back from one section to another," thespokesman said.
Earlier, students had to solve these sections in aserial order, with fixed duration of time.
The CAT 2014 will be held on November 16 and 22 across99 cities at 354 examination centres in four sessions. Theresult will be declared in the third week of December.
The registration process for CAT will begin fromAugust 6 and close on September 30. TCS will take care oftechnical aspect of the computer-based examination.
