CBI cracks Bhanwari Devi case?

Jodhpur, Jan 3 (IBNS) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) , which has intensified searches to trace the body of missing nurse Bhanwari Devi, has almost cracked the case, according to some media reports quoting sources in the federal agency.

After arrest of two people, more are likely to be apprehended on Wednesday.

According to CBI sources earlier, the investigating agency has zeroed in on places in Jodhpur´s Jaloda village where there is possibility of her body being buried.

The CBI sleuths are camping in the village and combing the areas with sophisticated devices.

Sources said the searches were intensified after interrogating accused Om Prakash Bishnoi, who allegedly was involved in disposing Bhanwari Devi´s body.

The Bhanwari Devi case has already created a turbulence in Rajasthan´s political paradigm.

The Jodhpur Police in September had registered a case of rape, murder and criminal conspiracy against former Congress minister Mahipal Maderna in the case of the missing Dalit nurse.

The case was filed after a Bilara trial court directed Rajasthan Police to probe alleged role of Maderna in the case.

Minister Maderna allegedly had an affair with Bhanwari Devi as CDs that were recovered by CBI showed the minister and Bhanwari Devi in a compromising position.

Congress Members of Legislature (MLA) Malkhan Singh Bishnoi was also seen in a compromising position with Bhanwari Devi in the CD along with Maderna.

Mahipal Maderna was dropped from the Ashok Gehlot cabinet on Oct 16.
