The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2018 notification.Candidates who wish to register for the examinations may submit the forms at the official website, ctet.nic.in

The teacher eligibility test (TET) is a mandatory qualification for candidates looking for jobs in government schools from class 1 to class 8. CBSE conducts the test twice a year and central board will be conducting the 11th edition of CTET 2018 on sunday, september 16. The test will be conducted in 92 cities all over the country.

Important dates

Submission of online application: June 22 - July 19

Last date for submission of fee through echallan or debit/credit card: July 21 before 3:30 pm

Admit card availability: August 20

Exam pattern: The pattern of examination consists of two papers - paper 1, for aspirants who wish to be a teacher for classes 1 to 5 and paper 2, for candidates who wish to be a teacher for classes 6 to 8.

The timings of the exam are: Paper II – 9.30 am to 12.00 pm and Paper I – 2.00 pm to 4.30 pm.

Eligibility criteria: The minimum qualifications for becoming teacher for Classes 1 to 5 are:

1) The candidate should have passed the Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) exam with at least 50 per cent marks. He/ she should wither pass or appear in the final year of two-year Diploma in Elementary Education.

or

Besides passing Class 12 or Senior Secondary exam with at least 45 per cent, he/ she should appear in final year of two-year Diploma in Elementary Education in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.

or

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).

or

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education)

or

Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

Teacher for Classes VI-VIII

Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education

or

Graduation with at least 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed)

Or

Graduation with at least 45 per cent marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE

Or

Senior secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)

Or

Senior secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed

Or

Graduation with at least 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).
