Police has recovered a mobile phone from a yacht belonging to BCCI chief N Srinivasan's son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan, who was arrested last week in connection with the IPL spot-fixing scandal.

The phone, which was found during a search of the plush, 70-foot yacht berthed at the Chennai Marina, could provide vital clues to the cops in their probe, media reports said.

Earlier, a day after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president N Srinivasan said his son-in-law was not officially linked to the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) team, police recovered from Meiyappan´s residence visiting cards that bear the latter´s name as the Team Principal.

The cards were found during a police raid in Meiyappan´s residence in Chennai.

The murky Indian Premier League (IPL) spot-fixing scandal reached at the doorstep of India´s cricket board chief and a team owner on Friday night with the Mumbai Police arresting Gurunath Meiyappan for his alleged involvement in the illegal betting after he was summoned for quizzing.
