A National Bravery Award winner has been booked for writing objectionable remarks on Chandigarh Traffic Police's Facebook page, media reports said on Tuesday.

22-year-old Henna Bakshi was booked on Friday for her posts on Chandigarh Traffic Police´s Facebook page.

Henna had won the Geeta Chopra Bravery Award for catching a burglar in 2001.

She was booked under different sections of the Information Technology (IT) Act, 2000 following a complaint by a traffic police personnel.

Henna´s father Col Pardeep Bakshi told TOI that the Chandigarh Police misinterpreted the online posts of his daughter.

She reportedly posted the comments after she was allegedly harassed by the cops when her Tata Safari car was stolen on Aug 11.

Henna said the police did not contact her to inform on the progress in the case.

She alleged that the police did not give her satisfactory response when she asked about the case.

Henna later posted the remarks on the state traffic police´s Facebook page.
