Former Andhra Pradesh chief minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday suspended his ongoing 'Vastunna Meekosam' foot march for a day after he suffered a minor injury to his back during a mishap in Andhra Pradesh's Mahbubnagar district on Friday.
Naidu suffered a minor injury when the dais from which he was speaking during a public meeting at Gadwal town in Mahbubnagar district collapsed on Friday.
A team of doctors reached Gadwal town and conducted medical tests on Naidu.
Doctors conducted a digital X-ray on Saturday morning and found the leader did not suffer a fracture. But they urged Naidu to take two to three days´ rest.
Doctors last night said Naidu suffered a sprain.
Naidu last night walked for a kilometer after the mishap but later stopped following back pain, reports said.
The leader, however, insisted on resuming his foot march after taking rest on Saturday.
Naidu´s wife Bhuvaneswari and his son N Lokesh reached Gadwal on Friday to look after the leader.
