Chennai blasts: CCTV footage of suspect released

Chennai: The Tamil Nadu police on Friday released CCTV footage of a possible suspect getting off the Guwahati-Bangalore Express on which two blasts killed one and injured 14 others at the Chennai railway station on May 1.

In the footage released by the Crime Branch of the state police, the man is seen suspiciously alighting from the train just after it pulled into the Chennai Central Station early in the morning. He then runs away and is not seen getting back on the train in the video captured by cameras at the station.

According to sources the explosives planted in the train were similar to those used to trigger multiple blasts in Patna hours before the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate, Narendra Modi, was to address an ‘Hunkar rally’ on October 28, 2013.
