Beijing, March 3 (IANS) Grassroots-level officers in the Chinese army have got pay hikes of up to 40 percent, a media report said Thursday.
Senior officers will get an average increase of 1,000 yuan ($152) in their monthly wages, raising the highest level of salary of general officers to 22,000 yuan, China Daily reported, citing the Chongqing Morning Post.
This was the third pay rise since July 2006. The first salary rise was a 100 percent hike in July 2006. The second pay rise came in July 2008.
