Highveld Lions defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by six wickets in a Champions League Twenty20 match at Newlands here on Tuesday.
Chasing 159 for victory, Lions reached the target in 19.3 overs losing four wickets.
Gulam Bodi remained the top scorer for the side with his 64 runs from 46 deliveries. He hit five boundaries and four sixes in the innings.
Jean Symes played a crucial knock of 39 runs from 23 balls and remained not out till the end of the match.
Doug Bollinger picked up two wickets by giving away 18 runs in his four overs for CSK.
Earlier, CSK scored 158 runs for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs.
Skipper MS Dhoni remained the top scorer for the side with his 34 runs off 26 balls. He hit two boundaries and two sixes.
Faf du Plessis (25), Murali Vijay (22), Suresh Raina (20), Ravindra Jadeja (21) and Subramaniam Badrinath (27*) made some important contributions with the bat that helped CSK post 158 runs on the scoreboard.
