Highveld Lions defeated Delhi Daredevils (DD) by 22 runs in the first semi-final match of the Champions League T20 at Kingsmead here on Thursday.
Chasing 140 for victory, Delhi scored 117 runs for the loss nine wickets in 20 overs.
Kevin Pietersen remained the top scorer for Delhi side with his 50 runs off 44 balls. He hit three boundaries and a six in the innings.
He did not get much support on the other end as Delhi batsmen failed in the crucial match.
Virender Sehwag (0), Ross Taylor (1), Irfan Pathan (1), Unmukt Chand (9), Naman Ojha (7) failed to contribute with the willows.
Chris Morris bowled well and picked up two wickets by giving away seven runs in four overs.
Earlier, Lions scored 139 runs for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs.
Gulam Bodi top scored for Lions with his 50 runs off 49 balls.
Neil McKenzie hit 46 unbeaten runs off 28 balls. He hit four boundaries and one six in the innings.
Umesh Yadav picked up two wickets in four overs for Delhi.
Lions reached the final of the tournament with the victory.
