Class 9 student stabs teacher to death in Chennai

A 13-year-old student studying in standard nine of St Mary's Anglo-Indian School here, allegedly stabbed his teacher to death inside the classroom on Thursday.

The incident took place when Uma maheshwari, who had been teaching science and Hindi in the school for the past 8 to 10 years, was waiting in an empty classroom when the boy allegedly walked in, and slashed her throat, and stabbed her in the stomach.

The teacher raised an alarm but died before she could be taken to hospital.

The boy is in police custody. (ANI)
