Ranchi, Nov 25 (IANS) The Jharkhand vigilance bureau Thursday said the news channel CNN-IBN was not cooperating in the probe into the cash-for-vote scandal of July, in which four state legislators were caught on tape asking for money in exchange for their support to Rajya Sabha nominees.
'We wrote several letters to CNN-IBN seeking details of the expose. We can carry forward the investigation only after recording statements of people who did the sting operation. We will seek direction from court how to proceed,' inspector general of Jharkhand vigilance bureau M.V. Rao said.
The IBN-Cobrapost sting operation showed four legislators - Teklal Mahto, Simon Marandi (both from Jharkhand Mukti Morcha), Uma Shankar Akela (Bharatiya Janata Party) and Yogendra Sao (Congress) - demanding hefty bribes for their votes.
