Cold wave death toll climbs to 107 in UP

Lucknow: At least 15 more people were killed by severe cold in north Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, taking the toll to 107, officials said on Wednesday.

Cold-related deaths were reported from several cities and districts in the state including Muzaffarnagar, Mathura, Agra, Bulandshahr, Etah, Barabanki and Mirzapur.

In Lucknow, the minimum temperature touched 5 degrees celsius.

Cold weather has disrupted life in entire north India including national capital New Delhi.



In New Delhi, the minimum temperature touched 4.8 degrees celsius.

Dense fog in the national capital reportedly disrupted the schedule of 30 flights at Indira Gandhi International Airport.

One international flight was diverted to Mumbai, reports said.
