Google is likely to launch Drive Cloud storage, rivalling Dropbox and Apple's iCloud in the next few weeks, sources have said.
The new product would offer users a large amount of web-based storage which all connected devices could upload content or access.
Sources said that Google's service would synchronise files and content with Android phones and tablets and with browser and operating system Chrome, The Telegraph reports.
It would mean that video filmed on an Android phone would instantly be uploaded to a central 'cloud-storage' drive.
The company would also be able to incorporate its cloud storage service with its Google Application offerings, including word processing and spreadsheet programmes.
The company had announced a similar service G Drive in 2007 but it was never launched.
A Google spokesperson declined to comment on the issue. (ANI)
