Cong orchestrated slipper attack on Kejriwal: BJP

Allahabad: BJP on Wednesday accused Congress of orchestrating the slipper attack on Team Anna member Arvind Kejriwal.

"I strongly condemn the slipper attack on Kejriwal. It appears that Congress had deployed its henchmen at the venue with clear instructions for indulging in such a mischief," BJP national vice-president Kalraj Mishra said.

He said Congress is "inventing new tricks" to suppress anti-corruption crusades.

A man yesterday threw a slipper at Kejriwal in Lucknow when he was proceeding for an event as part of Team Anna's anti-corruption campaign.

Mishra said, "Congress seems to have failed to draw lessons from its mistakes...It seems reluctant to give up its invidious ways...The party's failure to act against its tainted leaders has generated resentment among public and its attempts to intimidate and demoralise whistle-blowers would only make matters worse."
