Raipur: Continuing his tirade against Union Home Minister P Chidambaram, BJP president Nitin Gadkari on Saturday alleged that Congress was politicising terrorism.
"A criminal or a terrorist does not belong to any religion, or caste nor does terrorism have a colour. By using the term 'saffron terrorism' the Home Minister P. Chidambaram has insulted Indian culture," Gadkari told reporters here.
Home Minister stands by saffron terror remark
The Congress is following a policy of appeasement and politicising terrorism which is dangerous, he said.
On Naxalism, Gadkari said that it was socio-economic and nationwide problem and there should be a uniform plan of action to deal with it.
He said while the Central government had formed an advisory committee to curb the activities of the outlaws, members of the committee were seen supporting Naxalism in TV shows on the subject.

The Centre should take note of this, he added.
The BJP president demanded that the Centre should accept the report of the Suresh Tendulkar committee, that deals with the below poverty line (BPL) numbers, and increase the BPL income limit from the present Rs 20,000 to Rs one lakh.
