New Delhi, Nov 7 (IANS) The Delhi High Court Wednesday issued notice to the central government and the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) on a plea seeking voting rights for new members of the Gymnastics Federation of India in the Olympics body's upcoming polls.
The IOA is holding elections for its office bearers Nov 25.
Justice Rajiv Shakdher sought a response from the ministry of youth affairs and sports and others and posted the matter for Nov 19.
The gymnastics federation challenged an IOA order on recognition of the former's members for voting in the Nov 25 election.
The petitioner alleged that the IOA erroneously recognised those office bearers of the gymnastics association whose election, held July 30, 2011, was declared invalid by the ministry.
