New Delhi, Dec 14 (IANS) A Delhi court Friday dismissed the plea of Sukhdev Singh Namdhari, booked for the murder of Hardeep Singh, brother of slain liquor baron Ponty Chadha, for a separate vehicle to ferry him between the jail and the court.
Metropolitan Magistrate Gaurav Rao dismissed the plea of Namdhari, who through his advocate R.S. Malik, Thursday told the court that other under-trials attacked and injured him when he was being brought to the court from jail.
Namdhari, a witness to the Nov 17 shoot-out at a farmhouse in south Delhi in which both the brothers were killed, has been booked under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code for Hardeep's killing.
Sacked as chairman of the Uttarakhand Minorities Commission after the Chadha brothers' killings, he was arrested from his farmhouse in the hill state Nov 23.
Meanwhile, the court also extended, till Dec 27, the judicial custody of other arrested accused - Bhupender Singh, Uday Raj Singh, Rajpal Singh, Anand Singh Bisht, Mathura Singh Mehra and Satnam Singh.
