Sri Lanka defeated Australia by 20 runs to reach the semis finals stage of the ICC Champions Trophy at Kennington Oval here on Monday.
Chasing Sri Lanka´s 253 for 8, Australians were all out for 233 in 42.3 overs.
In a match that was mostly dominated by Sri Lanka, Australia lost their wickets continuously to make things difficult for themselves.
Adam Voges remained the top-scorer for the side with his 49.
However, Australian fans found moments to cheer when
Xavier Doherty (15*) and Clint McKay (30) added 41 runs int he last wicket partnership to help Australia pass the 200-mark.
Dilshan took a brilliant catch to dismiss
McKay and ensure a semi-final spot for his side where they will meet India.
Nuwan Kulasekara picked up three wickets for Sri Lanka.
Earlier, Sri Lanka posted 253 runs by losing eight wickets in their 50 overs.
Mahela Jayawardene remained the top scorer for the Asian side with his gutsy unbeaten knock of 84.
He hit 11 boundaries in his innings.
Lahiru Thirimanne added 57 runs with his willow.
Mitchell Johnson piked up three wickets for Australia.
New Zealand and Australia were knock out of the tournament as England and Sri Lanka progressed to the semi-final from Group A.
