New Delhi: A fast-track court is likely to frame charges against the five accused in the Delhi gang rape case on Saturday, said reports.
The sixth accused has been declared a juvenile and will be tried under juvenile justice laws.
The prosecution has asked for the accused to be charged for murder, gang rape, robbery and conspiracy.
The trial technically begins after the charges are framed against the accused.
The 23-year-old medical student was gang raped and brutalised by the six persons on a moving bus in Delhi on December 16. She succumbed to her injuries on December 29 at a Singapore hospital. Her death sparked national outrage and protests on the lack of security for women in India.
Latest reports said the father of the victim has sought an appointment with UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and wants the harshest punishment for the juvenile, who was apparently the most brutal during the assault.
