The principal and four other employess of a Delhi municipal corporation run school were suspended after a seven-year-old was raped inside the school premises on Thursday last, reports said.
The school rape at Mangolpuri in New Delhi triggered angry street violence.
Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde on Saturday reacted to the rape and said he has directed the police to take firm steps on the issue.
"I have given instructions to the police. I spoke yesterday in Parliament on the Maharashtra case," Shinde told reporters here.
"We have taken these matters very seriously. The government is taking firm steps," he said.
Meanwhile, the police on Saturday dismissed the role of an outsider in the case.
The victim has been discharged from a Delhi hospital where she was undergoing treatment.
Dr Puneeta Mahajan, Medical Superintendent, Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital was quoted as saying by CNN-IBN, "The patient was discharged in a stable condition yesterday at 4 pm. Prima facie medical tests confirmed sexual assault. We are awaiting final reports."
