After some respite from cold waves for a couple of days, Delhiites woke up to another chilled and foggy morning on Friday.
The minimum temperature was recorded at 6.6 degree Celsius.
On the other hand, the dense fog resulted in the visibility at the runway to drop down to 50 metres affecting the flight operations at the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
Reports suggest that around 74 domestic and international flights have been delayed whereas 15 others cancelled. At the same time, seven flights, including one from Doha, have been diverted. The one from Doha was diverted to Jaipur.
Harshit Mathur, a student in the city, said, "I was so happy that new year this time is falling on Sunday but it seems that the bone-chilling cold will derail all our plans."
Apart from this, the traffic movement in various parts of the capital has also been affected.
However, the Met officials have reported that the conditions are likely to improve during the day but the chill will continue unabated for some more days.
