Indian skipper MS Dhoni is doubtful for Sunday's third and final One Day International (ODI) match against Pakistan in Delhi due to a sore back.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday said wicket-keeper Dinesh Karthik has been asked to fly to Delhi as a back-up.
"M.S. Dhoni has a sore back on the eve of the third AIRTEL ODI against Pakistan, to be played at Delhi on Sunday. 6 January 2013," BCCI secretary Sanjay Jagdale said in a statement on Saturday.
"The All-India Senior Selection Committee has asked Dinesh Karthik to fly to Delhi as a back-up," Jagdale said.
Pakistan have already clinched the three-match series after defeating the home side in the second ODI match on Thursday.
The visitors are leading the series by 2-0 margin.
Dhoni scored 113 not out and 54 not out in the two matches respectively.
