Diamond merchant from Vishakhapatnam missing

Bangalore: A diamond merchant from Vishakhapatnam, who came here for business purpose, was reported to be missing from Bangalore International Aiport (BIA), police said today.

"Manojkumar Gandhi (44), who came to Bangalore on February six and was supposed to board a flight to Mumbai by Kingfisher Airlines yesterday evening, is missing. He was carrying Rs three crore cash", police sources said.

Owner of a jewellery shop in Vishakhapatnam, Manoj came to Bangalore and checked into the five-star hotel ITC Gardenia. Subsequently, he was moving in the city along with his friends for buying a site. Yesterday morning, he visited various places to see some sites.

In the evening, he proceeded to BIA to board his flight which he never took and has been missing since then, police said.

His family friend Satish later lodged the complaint at the airport police station.

"We have constituted two special squads to trace Manoj and hope to crack the case soon", Deputy Commissioner of Police (North-East Division) Ravikantegowda said.
