Actors Dimple Chunnibhai Kapadia and the proud new Bollywood mom Shilpa Shetty turned a year older on Friday.
Kapadia, who was born on June 8, 1957 turned 55 and Shetty, who was born on June 8, 1975 turned 37.
Kapadia entered the film industry at the age of 16 with the super hit film Bobby.
The film literally turned her into a youth fashion icon of the times for her knotted polka-dotted blouse.
She earned the tag of sex symbol of her time but she broke that image and appeared in various parallel movies.
Kapadia won several awards that include Filmfare Award for Best Actress (Bobby), Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress (Rudaali) and Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress (Krantiveer) to name a few.
Her other film projects include Saagar, Janbaaj, Insaaf, Ram Lakhan, Luck By Chance, Dabangg and Patiala House etc.
On the other hand, Shetty who started her career as a model, made her acting debut in the movie Baazigar as a supporting actor that earned her a nomination for Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award.
As a leading actor she was first seen in the film Aag in 1994.
Later, she was seen in several other hit movies like Main Khiladi Tu Anari, Aao Pyaar Karen and Dhadkan etc.
Shetty participated in Celebrity Big Brother UK and turned out to be the winner, garnering international acclaim.
Shetty tied the knot with Raj Kundra. The couple is now blessed with a baby boy, named Viaan Raj Kundra.
