Discus thrower Krishna finishes seventh

London, Aug 5 (IBNS) Indian discus thrower Krishna Poonia finished seventh in the women's discus throw at the 2012 London Games at the Olympic Stadium here Saturday.

Poonia´s best effort of 63.62m came in her fifth attempt here at the Olympic Stadium.

The gold was won by Croatian Sandra Perkovic with throw of 69.11metres, a national record.

Russian Darya Pishchalnikova got the silver with 67.56m and Li Yanfeng of China settled for the bronze medal at 67.22m.
