Several dozen animals rescued from a house fire in a Cincinnati suburb have found temporary shelter with one Ohio family.

WCPO-TV reports (http://bit.ly/yf2BIb ) that a family in Colerain Township has offered to take in almost three dozen of the more than 70 pets rescued from the burning home in Mount Healthy on Thursday morning.

Authorities arrived to find more than 70 animals inside the house. Most of the animals survived the fire, though one iguana and a couple cats died.

Adam Charles and his wife are helping care for ferrets, guinea pigs, rats and bunnies.

Charles says the animals are adjusting to their new surroundings. But he says one of the rats has a broken back, and the ferrets are coughing and sneezing from inhaling too much smoke.
