Dumper set ablaze by mob near Park Circus

Kolkata: A mob set on fire a loaded dumper of the Kolkata Corporation after it dashed a local boy Niyajuddin near Park Circus.

Fire tenders rushed to the spot and doused the flame.

City police sources said that the incident took place at the crossing of Congress Exhibition Road and Nasiruddin Road where the Corporation dumper hit the boy injuring him.

A mob immediately put up a road blockade resulting in a traffic snarl at the busy seven-point crossing.

The blockade was withdrawn after an hour following the intervention of senior police officers.

The driver of the dumper was absconding, the police said.
