US President Barack Obama and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh met briefly on the sidelines of the 7th East Asia Summit (EAS) here on Tuesday.

Singh congratulated Obama for winning the presidential election earlier this month, an Indian official said.

Obama told Singh: "India is a big part of my plan."

Singh on the same day held bilateral talks with Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda and Prime Minister of Brunei Darussalam Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei on the sidelines of the East Asian Summit.

Singh and Noda reportedly reviewed the bilateral relationship between the two countries and discussed other regional issues.

Both the leaders shared the view that the relationship was ´warm´, reports said.

Meanwhile, Singh and Bolkiah discussed the possibility of expanding cooperation in the energy sector.

Singh on Sunday arrived at Phnom Penh, the capital city of Cambodia, for the 10th India-ASEAN Summit and the 7th East Asia Summit.
