
Lucknow: Acting on a complaint regarding violation of model code of conduct by Congress general secretary and candidate from Amethi parliamentary constituency Rahul Gandhi, the Election Commission has sought a report from Sultanpur district magistrate in this regard.
"The commission has received a complaint from some person alleging that more than five persons accompanied Rahul during his nomination on April 4. A report has been sought from the Sultanpur district magistrate in this regard," additional chief electoral officer Amrit Abhijat told reporters here.
Abhijat said that as per EC directives, not more than four persons, including the candidate, are allowed inside the room, where nominations are filed.
